Privacy Policy & Terms of Use
Last updated: 23 October 2026
This page explains how the PDF Compressor service ("the Service", "we", "us") handles your data, and the terms on which it is offered. Optional analytics are controlled separately through your cookie choice; using the Service does not by itself give consent to analytics.
Who operates this Service
The Service is operated by Klymenko Andrii, a sole proprietor registered in Ukraine. For any privacy question or request, contact us at [email protected].
Part 1 — Privacy Policy
Your files
- Files you upload are processed only to produce the compressed result you ask for.
- They are stored temporarily on the server and deleted automatically (by default, sessions older than 60 minutes by directory modification time are eligible for a cleanup pass every 10 minutes; deployment settings can differ). Files can also be lost on server restart and are not a backup.
- Compression automatically reads and renders your document on the server. Uploaded files and results are temporary working files, not a permanent archive.
- The compression analytics database does not have fields for uploaded documents or filenames. Operational error logs can contain filenames and technical error details.
- Files are processed on our hosting infrastructure to provide compression; they are not sold or used for advertising.
What we do record
If you accept optional analytics, we record pseudonymous usage data for compression attempts:
- date and time;
- a random browser identifier (see Cookies below);
- the original and compressed file sizes and the compression settings chosen;
- a country code when supplied by the hosting or proxy configuration;
- whether the compression succeeded.
This compression analytics database has no document-content, filename or raw-IP fields. Its browser identifiers can link several visits. Operational logs and telemetry are separate and described below.
Feedback
If you choose to use the optional feedback control ("Did it work?"), we store your answer and any comment you type, the time, a country code when available, and an existing browser identifier if one is present. The form is optional and can be skipped. Please do not include personal or sensitive information in a comment.
Purposes and legal bases
We process uploads and the essential session identifier to provide the compression service you request (performance of the service agreement). We rely on consent for optional compression analytics. Operational diagnostics, abuse prevention and responding to voluntary feedback support our legitimate interests in keeping the Service reliable and secure and resolving support requests.
Retention of analytics, feedback and logs
The temporary-file cleanup does not delete compression analytics or feedback. Those records remain in the service database until deleted by the operator; automatic expiry is not currently implemented. Cookie expiry does not delete existing records. Azure and Cloudflare diagnostic retention is controlled separately by their service settings. Contact us to request deletion of records relating to you.
Cookies and local storage
sid— an essential session cookie that keeps track of the files you uploaded during your visit; it expires after about one day.vid— a random identifier used to count browsers and usage after optional analytics consent; it lasts about a year.cc— stores your analytics consent choice for about one year. Declining does not prevent compression or the storage of feedback that you voluntarily submit.- Theme and language preferences are stored only in your own browser. The selected language is also visible in the page address.
We do not use advertising cookies. Cloudflare may set necessary security cookies when protecting the site. You can change your optional analytics choice below. Choosing Decline stops recording future optional compression analytics; it does not delete records already collected or feedback you choose to submit.
Third parties
The Service is hosted on Microsoft Azure in the North Europe region (Ireland). Cloudflare proxies traffic, provides HTTPS at its edge and protects the site. Both providers process network requests, including IP addresses and request metadata. Uploaded files pass through Cloudflare to the Azure application. When configured, Azure Application Insights receives operational request, error and diagnostic telemetry independently of optional compression analytics consent. Diagnostic logs may include filenames from failed uploads. Web fonts are loaded from Google Fonts, which receives network information when serving those fonts. These infrastructure and font requests occur independently of optional analytics consent. Our support mailbox is provided through Gmail; sending support email shares its contents with that provider. We do not sell or rent data.
Azure's application region does not mean every provider processes all data only in that region. Cloudflare, Google and Microsoft operate international services. For questions about these providers and international processing, contact us using the email address above.
Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or data portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. You may withdraw analytics consent using the control above without affecting processing that occurred before withdrawal. For requests, email [email protected] and we will respond within the period required by applicable law (normally one month for GDPR requests, subject to permitted extensions). We may need enough information to locate your records and verify your request; do not send a PDF or identity document unless specifically needed. You may also complain to your competent data protection authority, including in the EU country where you live, work or believe an infringement occurred.
Children
The Service is not directed to children and is intended for general audiences.
Part 2 — Terms of Use & Disclaimer
The Service is provided "as is"
The Service is offered free of charge and "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy, availability, or non-infringement. We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any compressed result will meet your requirements.
Your responsibility for your files
You are solely responsible for the files you upload. You confirm that you have the right to process them and that they do not contain unlawful content or infringe anyone's rights. Always keep your own copy of the original file — compression is lossy and the Service is not a storage or backup service.
Compression and DRAFT results
The app shows the current watermark policy before upload. The initial public trial is free without a watermark; policy may change in later releases. Payments are not available yet. Compression rebuilds the rendered pages as images and does not preserve OCR text, editable forms or original digital signatures. A smaller file is not guaranteed; check the result before using it.
Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, or special damages, nor for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service — even if advised of the possibility of such damages. Nothing in these terms limits any liability that cannot be limited or excluded under applicable law.
Changes and availability
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue the Service and update these terms and this policy. The "Last updated" date identifies the current version. Material changes to processing will be explained here and, where required, a new consent choice will be requested. Changes do not remove mandatory rights.
Governing law
Applicable law determines your rights and the competent courts. These terms do not exclude mandatory consumer protections or restrict rights that cannot lawfully be waived.
